The following article taken from the “times of India” makes for informative reading:
With the revision of work rules in a number of foreign countries, the most recent being Australia, Indian students are now being presented with the option of staying back in the country where they receive their degree in order to gain that elusive international work experience. Educators in the United States regard these revisions as the latest in a series of attempts by other countries to chip away at the dominance of American higher education. Hiring boom in Australia fuelled by skills shortage
Australia’s hiring boom looks set to continue as the economy expands and employers hired an estimated 17,500 extra workers in August. This is the tenth month in a row employment rates have gone up, following the 21,800 jobs added in July. The unemployment rate is around 4.3%, the lowest since 1974. In Australia & New Zealand Banking Group report released this week said that job-vacancy advertisements rose in August for the first time in three months as demand for labor increased. More than 141,000 jobs have been added to the economy so far this year. This is not quite as stunning as the 300,000 new positions created in 2006 but still indicates strong growth and great opportunities for skilled people.

Australian Migrants Well-Off: Study
Australia’s immigration programme has been a resounding success but stronger positive leadership is needed if Australia is to address serious challenges ahead.
These are the findings of a large-scale national study on the effects of migration on Australian society.
Conducted by a team of researchers from the University of New England (UNE), the study found that migrants to Australia are generally healthier, better educated, more law-abiding, more willing to participate in society and less dependent on welfare payments than the average Australian-born citizen.
